Apiary
Prior to the aforementioned 2018 Woolsey Fire that destroyed Shalom Institute’s campus and our farm, there was an active apiary where Shemesh Farms derived its famous wildflower honey. In May 2024 we rebuilt the Shalom Bee and Pollinator Center and along with it 4 brand new hives and 2 hives from the original progeny which survived the fire. We extracted our first honey in late summer 2024. The Bee and Pollinator Center also serves as an educational site for farm fellows, schools and guests of all ages and abilities.
